DOHA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- On the occasion of 100-day countdown for the FIFA World Cup 2022, which is rescheduled to kick off one day earlier with host Qatar to play in the opening match on November 20, let's catch a glimpse of the eight amazing stadiums.

Lusail Stadium, the main stadium of this World Cup, was constructed jointly with the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC). Shaped like a date palm bowl and an enamel lantern, it will host the final game scheduled on December 18.

The 974 Stadium is built using containers, removable seats and other modular "building blocks," which becomes the first in the history of the World Cup that can be completely dismantled. The number of containers is 974, the same as the international code of Qatar.

The design of Al Bayt Stadium was inspired by the traditional tents used by nomadic people in the Gulf region with an open and closed ceiling, while the Al Thumama Stadium's design comes from the traditional woven hat worn by Arab men.

Built in 1976, the Khalifa International Stadium is Qatar's oldest football stadium, which is also home to Qatar's national football team.
