NAIROBI, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese-built Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) has just celebrated its fifth anniversary of safe operation.
In addition to its speed, convenience and affordability, the SGR, which connects the country's capital to its busiest Mombasa port, offers local people opportunities to develop their careers.
As a landmark project of Belt and Road cooperation between China and Kenya, the 480-km SGR created more than 30,000 local jobs during the construction period alone.
