BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's Zhang Zhizhen defeated Italy's Andrea Vavassori 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 in three hours to win the ATP Challenger Tour in Cordenons, Italy, on Sunday.
"After the rain break in the first set, I reviewed my game and talked with my coach. I made some changes in the following sets," Zhang said.
It was the third Challenger Tour title for Zhang.
Also on Sunday in Lexington, the United States, China's Shang Juncheng won the Lexington Challenger title after beating Emilio Gomez of Ecuador 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
The Challenger Tour is the second-tier competition behind the ATP Tour. Young players need to earn ranking points to qualify for the main draw of the ATP Tour. ■
