BERLIN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Schalke has bolstered up its offense with the signing of striker Jordan Larsson from Spartak Moscow, the Royal Blues confirmed on Friday.

After terminating his contract with Spartak in June, the 25-year-old striker joined Schalke on a free transfer after putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2025.

"Jordan's style of play suits us very well. He is always looking for one-on-one and can see off players with his speed and technique. I am convinced that he will quickly find his way around the team and our game," said Schalke's head coach Frank Kramer.

Schalke's new arrival played for Spartak from April 2019 to March 2022, providing 27 goals and nine assists in 83 appearances. He joined Swedish outfit AIK Fotboll on loan in March 2022, before Spartak and Larsson agreed to terminate the contract by mutual consent.

"I am very happy that the transfer worked out. Schalke has made an impressive progress over the past few months. Now I am looking forward to becoming part of the team and making my contribution to a successful season for us," the new Schalke No. 7 told the club's official website.

Schalke will kick off its Bundesliga season on Sunday as the "Knappen" hosts Cologne.
