LONDON, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- LaQuan Nairn won first Bahamas' first medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games as the 26-year-old led the men's long jump with 8.08 meters on Thursday.

Jamaica's Rasheed Broadbell equaled the Games record as he took victory in the men's 110m hurdles in 13.08 seconds.

Jack Laugher of England took the 1m springboard gold as he triumphed again with 447.05 points.

Laugher had finished fourth in the preliminary round on Thursday, and was third after the first three attempts in the final.

But the 27-year-old three-time Olympic medalist pushed himself ahead after the fourth dive and held top position until the end.

17-year-old Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix from England clinched the women's 10m platform title with a score of 357.50 points.

Elsewhere at the Games, Australia's Matthew Denny took victory in the men's discus throw with a personal best of 67.26 meters at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

Canada won the rhythmic gymnastics team title after beating arch rivals Australia.
