FUZHOU, July 19 (Xinhua) -- A court in China's Fujian on Tuesday upheld a ruling, ordering a Dutch collector in possession of a millennium-old Buddha statue to return the stolen relic to its owners, two villages in Fujian.
This sculpture was CT scanned in 2013 and shown to contain the mummified body of a Song Dynasty Buddhist monk called Zhanggong Zushi. It had been housed in Puzhao temple, co-own by Yangchun Village and Dongpu Village in Datian County in Sanming.
