RIO DE JANEIRO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has described his move to Flamengo as a "dream come true" as he prepares to make his debut for the Brazilian Serie A club.

Vidal did not hide his eagerness to represent the Rio de Janeiro giants at his first press conference since securing a free transfer from Inter Milan earlier this month.

"I'm very happy. It is a dream come true and I will be the happiest man when I go out onto the pitch wearing a Flamengo shirt," the 35-year-old said. "I've come to win titles. If that weren't the case I'd have stayed in Chile to enjoy my vacation."

The former Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus player has been regularly linked with Flamengo in recent years, often posting photos on social media while wearing the club's red and black shirt.

"I'm bristling. I always wanted to play for Flamengo and I talked about it with Renato Augusto when I was at Bayer Leverkusen and with Rafinha, with whom I spent three years at Bayern Munich," he said.

Vidal added that his prime objective is to win the Copa Libertadores - South America's premier club trophy. Flamengo is still alive in this year's competition and will meet Brazilian rivals Corinthians in the quarterfinals next month.

"My biggest goal is to help the team win the Copa Libertadores," Vidal said. "Flamengo has to aim to win everything. I've won a lot of things, but the Libertadores is one of the things that every football player in South America dreams of having."
