ATHENS, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Three people were still missing on Wednesday after a helicopter crashed off the Greek island of Samos in the Aegean Sea during an operation to extinguish a wildfire, Greek authorities said.
One of the four-member crew has been rescued, and a search was underway to locate the others, according to an e-mailed press release from the fire brigade.
The four persons on board the Soviet-made Mil-Mi-8 helicopter were three foreign nationals -- two Moldovans and a Romanian -- and a Greek, according to the press statement.
Winds up to 6 on the Beaufort scale were blowing in the area, according to Greek national broadcaster ERT. ■
