Wuhan Three Towns remain unbeaten in the first phase of the 2022 CSL campaign, which exceeded head coach Pedro Pineda's expectations.
BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Wuhan Three Towns achieved more than they had bargained for as a newly-promoted side of the Chinese Super League (CSL), said head coach Pedro Pineda.
The Wuhan side remains unbeaten, winning nine and drawing one in their first 10 CSL matches to collect 28 points, four points clear of defending champions Shandong Taishan.
Their impressive run in the first phase of the 2022 CSL campaign exceeded Pineda's expectations.

"To be honest, I didn't expect my team to have performances like this at the start of this season. Then I only wanted to build an ideal team.
"Credit to my players who have worked very hard. I hope my team can maintain the current momentum and stay humble and grounded for the next period of this season," he said.
The second part of CSL fixtures for this season will be held from August 5 to mid-December.
"Let's see where we will be at the end of this season," added Pineda. ■
