JERUSALEM, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Spain and Hungary qualified for the finals of the European Women's U19 Water Polo Championships held in Israel's coastal city of Netanya on Sunday.
The final will be played on Monday evening, in which both teams will try to win the title for the second time as Spain was the winner in 2018 in Portugal and Hungary won the 1998 championship hosted by Britain.
Hungary won the final spot after overcoming the Netherlands 8-4. The first quarter was close, ending 2-2, but the Hungarians then scored six goals in a row to secure the win.
Captain Panni Szegedi and Eszter Macsai scored a brace each for Hungary, while no Dutch player scored more than one goal.
In the other semifinal, Spain beat Greece 12-7, mainly thanks to four goals from captain Maria Palacio.
Three goals by Evdokia Tsimara were not enough for the Greeks, who will play against the Dutch for the bronze medal. ■
