China's State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials on Friday.

Wang Guanghua replaced Lu Hao as general supervisor of national natural resources.

Wang Shouwen was appointed China international trade representative with the Ministry of Commerce, while Zhao Baolin was appointed auditor general of the National Audit Office.

Luo Wen was appointed head of the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Li Xiaohong was appointed president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), while five other academicians -- Zhong Zhihua, Deng Xiuxin, Wang Chen, Wu Manqing, and Li Zhongping -- were appointed vice presidents of the CAE.

Lu Hao was named director of the Development Research Center of the State Council.

Cong Liang was named head of the State Grain and Reserves Administration, and no longer serves as deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Song Zhiyong replaced Feng Zhenglin as head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and Feng was also removed from the post of vice minister of transport.

Liu Siyang was removed from the post of vice president of Xinhua News Agency, while Ma Jiantang was removed from the post of deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council.

Fu Xingguo is no longer head of the State Administration of Civil Service, and Wu Shizhong is no longer deputy head of the National Administration of State Secrets Protection.
