JERUSALEM, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday announced the signing of American power forward Jarell Martin, who had played in the NBA and CBA leagues.

28-year-old Martin is the sixth former NBA player that Maccabi has signed for the new season, after Lorenzo Brown, Wade Baldwin, Alex Poythress, Darrun Hilliard and Bonzie Colson.

Martin was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 25th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.

He played three seasons in Memphis and one season with the Orlando Magic, averaging 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 184 regular-season games.

In 2019, Martin joined the Shenzhen Aviators of the Chinese Basketball Association league, where he played 14 games, averaging 13.1 points and 7 rebounds in 28.9 minutes.

In 2020 he joined the Sydney Kings, where he won the 2022 NBL title.

"Jarell is a very versatile player," said Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash. "He is a good offensive player and an excellent rebounder on both sides of the court."
