JERUSALEM, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv have signed former NBA player Wade Baldwin for a two-year deal, the club said in a statement on Thursday.

Baldwin, 26, plays point guard or shooting guard for Vanderbilt during the college, and in 2016 was selected as the 17th overall pick in the NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.

His NBA career includes one season in Memphis and two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, averaging 3.1 points and 1.4 assists in 10.3 minutes per game in 56 regular-season games. He also played a total of seven NBA playoff games on both teams.

In 2019 Baldwin moved to Europe, playing in the Euroleague clubs of Olympiacos, Bayern Munich and Baskonia.

"Wade is one of the top guards in the Euroleague, and possesses extraordinary physical skills," said Maccabi's head coach Oded Kattash. "He plays well on both ends of the court and brings tenacity and aggressiveness."
