MEXICO CITY, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Argentine striker Gustavo del Prete has joined UNAM Pumas after parting ways with Estudiantes de La Plata, the Mexican side said on Monday.
The 26-year-old is expected to begin training in the coming days with a view to making his debut for Pumas in their Liga MX Apertura season opener against Tijuana on July 3.
"Welcome to your new home, Gustavo," Pumas said in a brief statement posted on social media. No details were provided about the value of the transfer nor the length of the contract.
Del Prete scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 45 appearances for Argentine outfit Estudiantes, whom he joined from Montevideo City Torque last July.
The attacker will be the fourth Argentine in Pumas' squad, joining striker Juan Dinenno, midfielder Fabio Alvarez and central defender Nicolas Freire. ■
