ISLAMABAD, June 13 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistan cricket team won the third One Day International (ODI) cricket match against West Indies on late Sunday night and completed its 3-0 victory in the home series against the visiting side.

Pakistan defeated West Indies by 53 runs in the third ODI match after the latter went all out at 216 in chase of 269 runs in Multan city in the country's eastern Punjab province.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first but went into trouble after losing the top five wickets at 117 scores. Pakistan had meager chances to set a big total before young Shadab Khan came to bat and successfully helped his team set a tough target of 269 runs with his individual 86 runs.

West Indies started to chase the target set by Pakistan with confidence but the loss of wickets consistently to tricky Pakistani bowlers led it to trouble.

All-rounder Shadab Khan once again appeared as the top player among Pakistani bowlers and took four crucial wickets. Akeal Hosein from West Indies gave some hope to his team with his brilliant 60 runs before he became the victim of Khan's spin bowling.

Khan was declared the man of the match for his brilliant performance while Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq won the title of player of the series.

The clean sweep victory in the series gave Pakistan 30 invaluable points in the ODI Super League, a qualification round for next year's World Cup to be held in India. Now, Pakistan stands at the fourth position in the 13-team ODI League table with 90 points.
