SAO PAULO, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Corinthians moved to the top of Brazil's Serie A championship on Saturday with a 2-0 home victory over Juventude.
Adson Soares put the hosts ahead with a second-minute strike before Gustavo Mantuan doubled the lead in the 84th minute at Corinthians Arena.
The Sao Paulo outfit now lead the 20-team standings with 21 points from 11 matches, two points ahead of second-placed Palmeiras, who have a game in hand. Juventude are 19th with 10 points.
In Porto Alegre, Wanderson scored a first-half brace to help Internacional to a 3-1 home win over Flamengo. The 27-year-old FC Krasnodar loanee gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Andreas Pereira equalized just before the hour mark.
Pedro Henrique guaranteed the home side their fourth win of the campaign by converting a penalty in the 92nd minute.
In other Brazilian Serie A fixtures, Santos drew 1-1 at Atletico Mineiro, Atletico Goianiense won 2-0 at Fluminense and Cuiaba were held to a 1-1 home draw by Bragantino. ■
