SAO PAULO, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil international striker Jo has ruled out retirement after his sudden departure from Corinthians.

The Sao Paulo giants terminated their contract with the 35-year-old on Thursday, a day after he was seen at a bar while his teammates were training.

"We came to an amicable agreement," said Jo, who had been contracted to the club until December 2023. "I'm grateful to the club for everything and to the fans too, but each of us will move on with our lives. At an opportune time I will talk about everything that happened."

Jo made 105 appearances and scored 22 goals across all competitions for Corinthians, whom he joined for a second time in 2020. He also spent two seasons with the club at the beginning of his career before moving to CSKA Moscow.

Capped 20 times for Brazil's national team, Jo has had spells at Manchester City, Everton and Jiangsu Suning, among other clubs, during a 19-year professional career.
