ANKARA, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Turkey on Wednesday detained at least 14 Islamic State (IS) suspects in police raids in two provinces.
The police teams in Adana province conducted raids at the residences of the 10 foreign nationals who were earlier active in the ranks of IS in Syria, state-run TRT broadcaster reported.
In a separate operation in Eskisehir province, police detained four suspects for allegedly being linked to the group.
Seven other IS suspects were detained in the capital Ankara on Tuesday.
The Turkish government designated the IS a terrorist organization in 2013, blaming the group for a spate of deadly attacks in Turkey since 2015. The Turkish counter-terrorism forces have been conducting operations against the IS members in the country. ■
