BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 45 km SW of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile at 1454 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 127.43 km, was initially determined to be at 23.2214 degrees south latitude and 68.498 degrees west longitude. ■
