WASHINGTON, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Manhole explosions in downtown Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday morning prompted the evacuation of two buildings, with one person injured.
The Boston Fire Department tweeted two "manhole fires" had shattered the window of one of the evacuated buildings.
Boston Emergency Medical Services tweeted that one patient had been transported to the hospital "via an advanced life support."
Local police said street closures had been in effect and pedestrian and vehicular traffic would be impacted. ■
