SHANGHAI, May 31 (Xinhua) --The largest makeshift hospital for COVID-19 in Shanghai closed down on Tuesday.
The hospital was converted from the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). It covers about 600,000 square meters with a capacity of 50,000 beds. It was put into use on April 9 to aid the megacity's fight against resurging COVID-19.
By Monday, the hospital had received more than 174,000 patients.
The Shanghai municipal health commission said Tuesday that the city reported nine confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 22 local asymptomatic cases on Monday.
