KABUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Unidentified people blew up three power pylons in the northern Samangan province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Monday.
The pylons connecting Uzbekistan's imported electricity to other provinces of the country were blown up in the Qadamgah area of Khulm district on Sunday night, the news agency said.
"Power is now temporarily connected and effort to repair the pylons is underway," it added.
In a similar incident, unknown miscreants dynamited two power pylons along the Salang pass in eastern Parwan province, sending the capital city Kabul and eight more provinces into darkness a couple of weeks ago. ■
