KABUL, May 22 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was injured as a blast rocked the Police District 15 of the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran confirmed.
"One person sustained injury due to a blast that happened next to the Esteqlal Hotel today," Zadran said on his Twitter account.
The officer also noted that security personnel have reached the area to investigate the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast took place at around 3:30 p.m. local time when a gathering was underway in the Esteqlal Hotel, which is located along the main road leading to the Kabul international airport. ■
