BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Guoan midfielder Li Ke has joined up with the Chinese Super League side after being absent for half a year due to an ankle operation.

Li, also known as Nico Yennaris, on Wednesday posted on social media a picture showing him in a Beijing Guoan tracksuit with a caption: Back to the team.

He has been away from the Beijing side since late November when he received an ankle operation in Britain and has since stayed there for rehabilitation.

He made three appearances for Beijing Guoan last season.

In late April, Li returned to China and was put under quarantine in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

After serving out his mandatory quarantine, he went to Meizhou, about a four-hour drive from Guangzhou, where the Beijing Guoan first team is currently quarantining.

The Beijing side reached Meizhou, where they will play a part of their new season fixtures, last Friday, though the timetable of the 2022 Chinese Super League (CSL) campaign remains undecided.
