SINGAPORE, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 2,651 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total tally to 1,242,884.
Of the new cases, 356 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,295 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 341 were local transmissions and 15 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 2,253 local transmissions and 42 imported cases, respectively.
A total of 274 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with nine cases in intensive care units.
One death was reported from COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 1,363, the ministry said. ■
