RIO DE JANEIRO, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has been recalled to Brazil's squad for friendlies against South Korea and Japan, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old, who was overlooked for Brazil's 2022 World Cup qualifiers in March, has returned to form with seven goals in his last nine appearances for the Sky Blues.

"He is evolving and getting back to his best. He is also high in confidence," Brazil manager Tite told a news conference in Rio de Janeiro.

The five-time World Cup winners will play South Korea in Seoul on June 2 and Japan in Tokyo four days later.

Tite also included Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli while calling up uncapped Palmeiras midfielder Danilo.

Brazil will use the matches as preparation for the World Cup, to be played in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
