CHENGDU, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Fulai Village, located on the southwestern edge of the Sichuan Basin, was once a poor village. The villagers made a living primarily through farming and as migrant workers. With the assistance of relief efforts, Fulai village was lifted out of poverty in 2019. The old village site was transformed into a rural resort in two years. Authorities have also looked into ways to boost local income by tapping into the tea industry. Villagers can work in holiday resorts and tea factories while tending to their tea gardens and farms.
