LA PAZ, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia's The Strongest scored four second-half goals on their way to a 5-0 home win over Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense in their Copa Libertadores group match here on Tuesday.
Argentine forward Enrique Triverio opened the scoring with a 32nd-minute strike and he doubled the lead by again finding the target six minutes into the second half.
Martin Prost and Juan Bautista added to the visitors' misery before Erick Carvalho gifted the hosts a fifth goal by turning the ball into his own net in the 94th minute.
The result marked The Strongest's first victory of the campaign and lifted them to second in Group B with five points from four matches, two points behind leaders Libertad.
Paranaense are last in the group with four points from as many games.
Meanwhile, defending champions Palmeiras won 5-0 at Independiente Petrolero, Atletico Mineiro prevailed 2-1 at America Mineiro, Estudiantes won 1-0 at home to Nacional, Emelec won 4-1 at Deportivo Tachira and hosts Caracas overcame Libertad 1-0. ■
