WASHINGTON, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Jaylen Brown's 30 points helped the Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks 109-86 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at the 2021-2022 NBA season on Tuesday, making the series 1-1.
The Celtics dominated the first quarter and led by 11, before Jayson Tatum enlarged the home team's advantage to 20 through two free throws in the midway of the second quarter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo pocketed five points for the Bucks before the halftime break, but Brown hit a 3-pointer to pile his first-half score to 25 points and take the Celtics to a decisive 65-40 lead.
Antetokounmpo performed efficiently and scored 18 points, narrowing the gap to 17 in the third quarter, but few of his teammates could help the defending champions cut the deficits.
With less than three minutes remaining on the clock, Tatum made the game beyond the Bucks' reach through a 3-pointer.
Tatum had 29 points, eight assists and three rebounds, while Grant Williams added 21 points, plus five rebounds.
In the away side, Antetokounmpo scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Jrue Holiday pocketed 19.
Also on Tuesday, Ja Morant had 47 points, helping the Memphis Grizzlies win over the Golden State Warriors 106-101 to level it 1-1 in the Western Conference semifinals. ■
