MEXICO CITY, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Argentine forward Juan Ignacio Dinenno scored twice as Pumas UNAM secured a berth in Mexico's Liga MX playoffs on Sunday with a 2-0 home victory over leaders Pachuca.
Dinenno struck in the 65th and 70th minutes to guarantee Pumas a place in the post-season.
The top 12 teams advance to the playoffs with the four four ranked sides earning a first-round bye.
Meanwhile, Santos Laguna netted three second-half goals to clinch a 3-1 win at San Luis.
Eduardo Aguirre, Brian Lozano and Jose Avila were all on target for the visitors after German Berterame had given the hosts the lead in the 48th minute.
But while Santos Laguna narrowly missed a playoff spot, San Luis advanced by finishing the regular season with 23 points from 17 games. ■
