Shanghai Port FC has reinforced its lineup with Chinese internationals Zhang Linpeng and Xu Xin signing up for the CSL side.
BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese internationals defender Zhang Linpeng and midfielder Xu Xin have joined Shanghai Port FC, the Chinese Super League club announced on Friday.
Zhang, who has been capped 92 times by China, completed a move from financially-stricken Guangzhou FC to the Shanghai side.
Xu linked up with Shanghai Port after failing to reach an agreement with Shandong Taishan on his contract extension.
Shanghai Port finished runners-up to Shandong Taishan in last season's CSL.
The kickoff date of the 2022 Chinese Super League season remains undecided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ■
