ISLAMABAD, April 22 (Xinhua) -- A Pakistani soldier was killed and another injured when terrorists attacked a security forces post in the country's southwest Balochistan province, an army statement said on Friday.
The security forces successfully repulsed the attack, causing heavy losses to the terrorists, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.
"The escaping terrorists were pursued into the nearby mountains. At one of the blocking positions established to cut off fleeing terrorists, a heavy exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces," the statement said.
It added that security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage peace, stability and progress of Balochistan. ■
