PYONGYANG, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), observed the successful test-firing of a new-type tactical guided weapon, the official Korean Central News Agency reported Sunday.
Without mentioning the date of the event, the report said the new-type tactical guided weapon system is of great significance for "drastically improving the firepower of the frontline long-range artillery units and enhancing the efficiency in the operation of tactical nukes."
On the occasion, Kim highly praised the national defense scientific research sector for its continuous successes "in attaining the core goals of securing the war deterrent set at the 8th Party Congress," and extended warm congratulations to the research team, the report added. ■
