SEOUL, April 13 (Xinhua) -- China's Han Yue lost to South Korean An Se-young in the women's singles, while Zhao Junpeng was also knocked out of the 2022 South Korea Masters badminton tournament on Wednesday.
Han was outclassed by the local favorite and second seed 21-10, 21-16.
Elsewhere in the women's singles, fourth seed He Bingjiao beat Jeon Jui of South Korea 20-22, 21-8, 21-13 to advance to the round of 16.
In the men's singles, seventh seed Zhao Junpeng was defeated by South Korean Kim Dong-hun 21-16, 17-21, 21-16. The 2022 Korea Open champion Weng Hongyang swept Algeria's Koceila Mammeri 21-19, 21-14. Fourth seed Lu Guangzu ousted Lee Dong-keun of South Korea 21-13, 21-19.
In the men's doubles, Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Liu Yuchen, paired with Ou Xuanyi, fought hard to edge fifth seeds Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin from Indonesia 13-21, 21-19, 22-20.
In the mixed doubles, China's Ou Xuanyi, who teamed up with Olympic mixed silver medalist Huang Yaqiong, overwhelmed Malaysian duo Choong Hon Jian and Yap Cheng Wen 21-16, 21-5. ■
