RAMALLAH/JERUSALEM, April 9 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian was killed and at least ten others injured on Saturday after Israeli forces stormed the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin in the northern West Bank, according to witnesses.
Witnesses said that the Israeli army surrounded the house of Ra'd Hazem, a Palestinian who opened fire at a crowded bar in Tel Aviv on Thursday, killing three Israelis and injuring several others.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health also confirmed the Israeli incursion.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Twitter that Israeli troops are conducting operations in Jenin, "firing toward armed assailants."
According to a statement released by the IDF, there were exchanges of fire between Israeli troops and Palestinians but no injuries to Israeli forces.
In recent weeks, there have been four attacks in Israeli cities, killing 14 civilians and wounding scores.
On Friday, Israeli Chief of the General Staff Aviv Kochavi ordered the Israel Defense Forces to increase operations in the West Bank. ■
