Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan head coach Hao Wei said he was fascinated by Guardiola's philosophy of attacking football.
BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan head coach Hao Wei said he is an admirer of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
Hao, who guided Shandong Taishan to CSL title last season, said he was fascinated by Guardiola's philosophy of attacking football.
"I admire Guardiola as I like positive play and attacking football," he said.
Hao said the team he likes most is the Manchester City side under Guardiola.
He said he sometimes would find the tactical flaws of the English Premier League champions game and post videos about them on social media.
"This in turn can enhance my tactical awareness," he said.
Hao revealed that Shui Qingxia, the head coach of Chinese women's side, was the one he admired most among Chinese soccer coaches.
"Under Shui Qingxia's guidance, the women's side won the Asian Cup title. I hope one day our men's side can emulate them," he said.
The Chinese women's team pulled off the Asian Cup feat after beating South Korea in early February.
Hao, who was the head coach of the Chinese women's side from 2012 to 2015, said he drew some comfort from this achievement of Shui's team.
"Over the past years, they made tremendous efforts, and that paid off," he said. ■
