RIO DE JANEIRO, March 31 (Xinhua) -- PSV Eindhoven and Lyon have shown interest in signing Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira, according to media reports in the South American country.
Pereira is currently on loan at Flamengo from Manchester United and has agreed in principal to a permanent contract with the Rio de Janeiro club.
Despite being considered a formality, the move has been slowed by Brazilian central bank processes, according to news outlet Globo Esporte.
It added that PSV and Lyon had capitalized on the delay and Pereira's lack of recent opportunities under new Flamengo boss Paulo Sousa to contact the 26-year-old.
Pereira has made 31 appearances for Flamengo and scored five goals since joining the club on a year-long loan last August.
In December, he told Brazilian journalists that he "would do everything" in his power to stay at Flamengo following a successful start to his loan spell. ■
