JAKARTA, April 1 (Xinhua) --The longest cross-highway box girder of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) was erected on Thursday in Indonesia, creating favorable conditions for the following rail-laying procedure.
This box girder spreads across the Jakarta-Bandung highway with dense traffic flow, which brought many difficulties to the construction.
To guarantee smooth progress, engineers and workers of China TieSiJu Civil Engineering Group CO., Ltd provided ground traffic management solutions and safety protection measures, while fully communicating with Indonesia's Construction Safety Committee of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and other related government departments.
The Jakarta-Bandung railway is the link between China's Belt and Road Initiative and Indonesia's Global Maritime Fulcrum strategy.
With a design speed of 350 km per hour, the railway built with Chinese technology will cut the journey between Jakarta and Bandung, capital of West Java province, from more than three hours to around 40 minutes.
