BERLIN, March 30 (Xinhua) -- There might be jobs in everyday life, but Jamal Musiala isn't made for those.
One couldn't imagine the 19-year-old ever developing into a solid bouncer in front of a nightclub. Or lifting tons of bricks on a building site.
He might even have to prove his age in a supermarket trying to buy alcohol or at the entrance of a cinema. There seems to be a reason for many of his teammates calling him Bambi.
Despite the midfielder appearing like a shy slender type in his final school years, his other values make him unique. And there seem many every sporting team must be fond of.
The youngster is on his way to developing into one of football's greatest stars.
His latest masterpiece in the German shirt in a friendly against the Netherlands might tell the story. Moving back from the more offensive position he usually plays at his club, he perfectly covered the job of a defensive six.
Entering a pitch, he seems to turn things upside down. Gravity doesn't seem to exist anymore; preconceptions seem to melt away like ice in the sunshine.
The prototype of a pleasant and courteous neighboring boy turns into an inspiring fighting machine delivering enchanting passes and even bouncing away opponents of every size.
Musiala continues to delight and surprise his fans and coaches.
The performance against the Netherlands in a new position as part of the 2014 world champion's newly formed starting 11 might have completed the picture of a footballer coming along with unique talent.
German national coach Hansi Flick and club coach Julian Nagelsmann don't seem to get tired of praising their players' abilities already alive at a young age.
"You rarely see a guy at his age playing like this," Citizen star Ilkay Gundogan said.
Flick and Nagelsmann talk about his skills to defend the ball in tight spaces. "Despite he appears to be a lightweight, he is smart and clever using his body to gain ground," Nagelsmann added.
The German coach is speaking about "a fascinating dynamic in the offensive part" and "robust quality in one-to-one duels."
After capturing the ball, he opens unexpected spaces driving on his team's game as he is turning into a ball magnet.
Dutch national coach Louis van Gaal after halftime was forced to send an experienced caretaker on the pitch. 31-year-old Paris midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum seemed the perfect man to do the job, while the young German continued to intrude opponent spaces.
Despite hymns of praise, Nagelsmann is talking about patience despite 51 first-tier games in Bayern's shirt and 11 internationals for Germany.
"I normally don't talk too much about single players, but he is an enrichment for every team. Well, he is one for the national team," Flick stated.
With Flick in charge as Bayern's head coach, Musiala made his first appearance in Bayern's team in 2020. Former German national coach Joachim Loew and the association's sporting director Oliver Bierhoff made intense efforts to convince the youngster to join the German team instead of the Three Lions.
Due to his family background, Musiala not only played in Chelsea youth teams for eight years but slipped into the Three Lions shirt for the under-15 and under-16 squads. ■
