Cheng Ying, a teacher at a special education school in Kaiyuan, northeast China's Liaoning Province, signed up as a volunteer in the community where she lives after the city stepped up prevention and control measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, Kaiyuan city carried out nucleic acid testing for all residents. To help a student with hearing impairment in her class take a nucleic acid test, Cheng picked up the student early in the morning.
Volunteers like Cheng are not alone. In Kaiyuan, there is a volunteer team composed of teachers from special education schools. They are supporting the city in a silent and warm way.
