JERUSALEM, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball Super League club Hapoel Beer Sheva have signed former NBA and CBA player Antonio Blakeney, the club announced on Thursday.
The 25-year-old American shooting guard played college basketball at Louisiana State University, before signing with the Chicago Bulls in 2017.
Blakeney's two-year stay with the Bulls included 76 games, in which he averaged 7.5 points, 0.8 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.
In 2019 he joined the CBA, playing 16 games for the Jiangsu Dragons, averaging 34.8 points, 3.4 assists and eight rebounds in 38.5 minutes per game.
In May 2021 he was arrested in Florida on suspicion of arranging a robbery, but was cleared of all charges.
Blakeney's previous team before arriving in Beer Sheva was Al-Ahli Manama of the Bahraini Premier League.
"We realize that he is an amazing team member who always pushes himself and his teammates to be the best," said Beer Sheva sporting director Daniel Ravitz. ■
