BUENOS AIRES, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Racing Club moved to within a point of group leaders River Plate with a 4-0 win at Atletico Tucuman in Argentina's Primera Division on Monday.
Facundo Mura opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a cool finish after Leonel Miranda's through ball.
Carlos Alcaraz doubled the lead just before the hour mark by curling a free-kick into the top left corner.
Despite their lead, the visitors refused to sit back and they made it 3-0 when Miranda struck with a long-range effort into the bottom left corner.
Mauricio Martinez completed the rout by slotting home from an acute angle 12 minutes from time.
The result leaves Racing third in the 14-team standings with 12 points from six matches while Atletico Tucuman are 13th with just four points. ■
