ROME, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile became the club's all-time top league goalscorer on Monday, as his penalty helped the Biancocelesti beat Venezia 1-0 in Serie A.

Immobile was on 143 Serie A goals for Lazio before Monday's game, equaling Silvio Piola's record.

After a goalless first half, Immobile found the net with a stunning curler minutes into the second period, but the Italian international was slightly offside during the build-up.

The moment eventually came in the 58th minute when Luiz Felipe won a penalty, and Immobile stepped up to seal game by converting the spot-kick.

The win, coupled with draws for both Atalanta and Roma, lifted Lazio into fifth place with 49 points.
