CAIRO, March 11 (Xinhua) -- The Egypt Desert Challenge Rally kicked off in the desert of Fayoum, southwest of Egypt's capital city Cairo on Friday.
During the two-day rally, racers will put their abilities to manage off-road situations and their endurance to the test.
The rally, which was joined by racers from 15 Egyptian teams, is expected to promote Egypt's sports tourism in the desert.
