China's annual sessions of the top legislature and national political advisory body are underway in Beijing.
The "two sessions" have seen thousands of national legislators and political advisors gather together to review and discuss the work of the central government, national legislature, top court and procuratorate over the past year and plan for the future.
This is the third year that the sessions have been held amid the COVID-19 epidemic.
Strict prevention and control measures are introduced to ensure the safety of the gatherings.
Regular requirements such as temperature checks, mask-wearing and disinfection are a must for people entering the Great Hall of the People, the venue for most of the meetings.
Successful practices of the previous years have also been adopted this year, such as holding interviews and press conferences via internet channels and video links.
Experts say lessons can be drawn from China's dynamic zero-COVID approach, which has provided maximum protection to the health of its people while minimizing the impact on their daily life and economic growth.
