RIO DE JANEIRO, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Former Uruguay international striker Sebastian Abreu has left his position as head coach of Club Always Ready after less than a month with the Bolivian club.

The decision followed a 3-0 loss at Bolivar on Sunday, a match Abreu was forced to miss due to family reasons.

"Always Ready announce the termination of Sebastian Abreu's contract, by mutual agreement. We wish him success for the rest of his career," read a statement issued by the club on Tuesday.

Abreu led Always Ready to one win, a draw, and two losses after joining the El Alto-based outfit in early February.

The 45-year-old, who was capped 70 times for Uruguay and scored 26 international goals, ended his 26-year playing career last year.
