AMMAN, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday said the kingdom is facing a fierce, organized campaign from various external platforms, supported by internal and external parties, whose goal is to weaken the country.
The campaign seeks to undermine the position of King Abdullah II and his role on regional issues, Fayez was quoted as saying by the state-run Petra news agency.
He called for confronting those campaigns and fabricated news, and standing together in the face of haters, noting that this will only increase Jordan's strength and immunity.
Last Monday, Jordan's Royal Hashemite Court denied reports that King Abdullah II owned Credit Suisse accounts.
According to a major data leak from Switzerland's Credit Suisse bank, "the king and queen of Jordan had secret Swiss bank accounts worth hundreds of millions of dollars." ■
