RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Argentine manager Fabian Bustos has taken charge of Brazilian giants Santos after parting ways with Ecuador's Barcelona SC.
The 52-year-old replaces Fabio Carille who was sacked last week after the team's poor start to the 2022 season.
"The idea is always to bring coaches who are winners," Santos president Andres Rueda told reporters. "We have found the best person available on the market and we hope he has great success."
Bustos, who led Barcelona SC to the last two Ecuadorian top flight titles, agreed to a deal that runs until the end of 2023.
He is expected to make his debut in the Santos dugout in their away clash against Ferroviaria on March 5. ■
