RABAT, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The headquarters of the Pan-African Youth Union (PYU) were moved from Sudan's capital Khartoum to the Moroccan capital Rabat on Monday.

The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Morocco's Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, with the presence of the president and the Executive Committee of the PYU, as well as foreign representatives of the African Ministers of Youth, Moroccan M24 television reported.

PYU's new President Moumouni Dialla said the move is a result of deep transformation, with the essential objective of adapting to the challenges facing African youth.

PYU is the coordinating body for youth organizations at the national, regional and continental Africa. On Nov. 10, 2020, it decided to transfer its headquarters from Sudan to Morocco.
