SINGAPORE, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 13,623 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total tally to 596,261.
Of the new cases, 2,056 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 11,567 through ARTs (antigen rapid tests), according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 1,957 were local transmissions and 99 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 11,519 local transmissions and 48 imported cases.
A total of 1,606 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 44 cases in intensive care units.
Seven more patients have died from complications of the COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 952, the ministry said. ■
